Judith HeineJudith Heine

Judy Heine, former Social Studies Department Chair at Canton High School, retired in 2002 after 35 years of teaching.  Along with World and US History, she taught Grade 12 Electives in Asian Studies and Economics.  In 1987, she traveled to Japan as part of a delegation of MA educators, sponsored by the US-Japan Foundation and the Five College Center for East Asian Studies. She received a Fulbright to study in China in Summer 1990, and returned in 1998 as part of a delegation of MA teachers with Primary Source.  In 2003 she was Regional Finalist in the NASDAQ National Teaching Awards, sponsored by Goldman Sachs and the National Council on Economic Education.   As a Past President of the Massachusetts Council for Social Studies and Secretary for the South Shore Social Studies Supervisors, she continues to promote MCEE's mission to train classroom teachers in Economics and assist them in incorporating Economic concepts into the existing curriculum.  Now that she is retired, she also has time for golf and travel.
